Meet the Founder
Dathan Watts is a native of Washington DC and a child of the 70's and started in Electron lab at McKinley H.S. in 1978 and have been in the trades ever since and graduated in 1987 From the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers IBEW Local Union # 26 Washington DC chapter after a 4 year comprehensive apprenticeship receiving a journeyman license. There I was exposed to all manner of Class A office buildouts as well as working in various electrical sub stations around the region as well as industrial setting such as water treatment plants. In 1991 branched out into general contracting in Washington DC as Watts Construction and worked with investors, local and federal government agencies as general and electrical contractors. Fast forward today "same soup different day", however polished and poised with valuable experience working with investors as well as homeowners and contractors to bring to life the vision of their projects in a timely and professional manner.
History of CanDEW Construction
CanDew Construction Company is a quality driven customer based business that prides itself on customer details and attention while teaching and educating clients in the experience. This vision is the brainchild of owner Dathan Watts native of Washington DC and have been actively in the construction industry in the DMV for over 40 years and counting!! Was a part of the 80's commercial real estate boom as well and the explosive real estate markets in the early 2000's and well entrenched in the current expansion that is occurring in the region. Commercial residential and retail buildout are part of the experience that CanDew brings to each project along with vision design and experienced management for a successful completion.
